Jack Thomas Leiter (born on April 21, 2000) is an American baseball pitcher who in the past played school baseball for the Vanderbilt Commodores. He was chosen second generally speaking by the Texas Rangers in the 2021 Major League Baseball draft. 

Beginner vocation 

Leiter went to Delbarton School in Morristown, New Jersey, where he played baseball and was partners with Anthony Volpe.

In July 2018, he played in the 2018 Under Armor All-America Baseball Game. In December, he played on the USA Baseball 18U National Team in Panama City during the 2018 COPABE Pan-American Championships, helping Team USA win a gold decoration. As a senior at Delbarton in 2019, he was named the Gatorade Player of the Year for the province of New Jersey.

At the hour of his determination, he was 6-0 with a 0.54 ERA close by batting .364. Leiter was viewed as a top possibility for the 2019 Major League Baseball draft, yet because of his solid obligation to Vanderbilt University, was not chosen until the twentieth round by the New York Yankees. He didn't sign and rather selected at Vanderbilt to play school baseball. 

In his school debut on February 18, 2020, Leiter pitched five no-hit innings while striking out 12, driving Vanderbilt to a 3-0 triumph over the University of South Alabama.

He was named the Southeastern Conference (SEC) fCo-Freshman of the Week following the presentation. Over 152⁄3 innings, Leiter went 2-0 with a 1.72 ERA before the school baseball season was dropped because of the COVID-19 pandemic. As a sophomore in 2021, Leiter returned as a starter.

On March 20, 2021, he contributed a no-hitter his SEC presentation against South Carolina, ordering sixteen strikeouts.

In his next start, he pitched seven no-hit innings against Missouri. He was named the SEC Newcomer of the Year close by being named to the 2021 College Baseball All-America Team.

Leiter finished the 2021 season beginning 18 games in which he assembled a 11-4 record, a 2.13 ERA, and 179 strikeouts more than 110 innings.

On July 11, 2021, Leiter was drafted by the Texas Rangers with the second determination in the 2021 Major League Baseball draft. 

Individual life 

Leiter was brought up in Summit, New Jersey. 

His dad, Al Leiter, threw 19 seasons in Major League Baseball. His uncle, Mark Leiter, and cousin, Mark Leiter Jr., likewise were proficient baseball pitchers.
