Mike McCarthy was born on the 10th of November, 1963. He was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the United States by his parents. His father was a Police officer as well as a firefighter but there is not much information available about his mother.

However, it is known that he attended Baker University located in Baldwin City, Kansas. Ever since he was very young, he had his mind set on being a football player. He loved being in the field and playing so he played on offense at the Baker University.

Mike McCarthy: Professional Life

The 55-year-old, Mike McCarthy started working in the field of football when he was relatively young. He first began in the field as a tight end player in his university. But, soon decided he would rather choose a separate path and started coaching. He first worked as a graduate assistant of  Paul Hackett at the University of Pittsburgh.

Five years later, he served as the assistant coach for the NFL's Kansas City Chiefs.  He later became the offensive coach of the New Orleans Saints for five seasons which definitely got him the recognition he deserved as he was chosen as the NFC Assistant Coach of the Year, in 2010, by USA Today.

McCarthy's career took a new height in 2006 when he was offered the position of a head coaching for Green Bay Packers. His coordination took the team to set a new record of  8-1 in the first 9 games of the 2007 season. He got to he sign a five-year contract extension on January 19, 2008.

One of the remarkable day in the history of McCarthy's career as well as for Green Bay Packers was the day they won by 31-25 against his home team, Pittsburg Steelers. This win officially became their fourth Super Bowl win and gave them 13^th NFL title overall.

Unfortunately, when packers lost to the Cardinals by 17-20, McCarthy was dismissed by the Packers on December 2, 2018. This ended his one year contract he signed on January 2, 2018.
