Ruth Davidson was born on 10th November of the year 1978 which has now made her 39 years old. She was born in Edinburgh, Scotland at the Simpson Memorial Maternity Pavilion. She was raised up in Selkirk and Fife. She has also lived in Glasgow in her adult life. She went to study at the Knowepark Primary School where she studied until primary three.
She is the daughter of Douglas Davidson and his wife. Her father is a mill manager at the Laidlaw and Fairgrieve who has also played professional football in his younger days for Partick Thistle F.C. He was also a midfielder during the late 1970s and early 1980s in Selkirk F.C. When Ruth’s father took the job at whisky industry, they had to move to Fife.
After moving there, Ruth attended the Buckhaven High School. Later, she joined the University of Edinburgh to learn English Literature. From there, she gained herself a Master’s of Arts Degree.
Talking about her personal life, Davidson was seen in a party election broadcast on 18th February 2018 where she was with her same-sex partner Jen Wilson who is a 33 years old Irish woman. She then made an announcement about her engagement with Jen in May of next year. On 26th April 2018, Ruth announced that she was pregnant after receiving IVF treatment. She also stated that she and her partner Wilson were excited to become parents.

Ruth Davidson: professional life and career
After completing her graduation, Davidson started to work as a trainee reporter at the Glenrothes Gazette. She then moved to Kingdom FM which was again followed by Real Radio. Later in late 2002, Ruth joined BBC Scotland where she started working as a radio journalist, presenter, producer as well as reporter. She then left BBC to join the University of Glasgow in 2009.
Besides that, she has also served in the 32 Signal Regiment of the Territorial Army as a Signaller from 2003 to 2006. Additionally, she was also a teacher of Sunday school. After leaving BBC, she joined the Conservation Party. She has also worked for Scottish Conservative leader Annabel Goldie as a head of the private office. She was later selected for the 2011 Scottish Parliament Election in which she was placed 2nd on the list of Conservatives’ Glasgow region.
Ruth became the first female Scottish Politician on 23rd October 2015 to appear as the panelist on BBC One satirical news quiz called Have I Got News For You. She then became the Honorary Colonel of 32nd Signal Regiment in 2017. She was also listed as one of the World’s 100 Most Influential People in Time 100 in April 2018.
